MORE FOLLOWER TOPICS!!!

As those who have been following my blog for a while know, I have a few things going on so I haven’t been blogging as much as I once did. I just wanted to let everyone know that I still want to keep the FOLLOWER TOPICS going.


For those that don’t know what those are, they are topics which are sent in anonymously and I write up a post, then Moms comment to give their take on the situation or even give advice. Follower Topics are good because a person can get advice from a person on the outside of a situation.

What's REALLY Going On???

I have been contemplating for some time about writing a post on this topic. However I was out the other day people watching and decided I had to speak on this. Now I know I’m probably preaching to the choir about a topic many have already touched upon, but I just CANNOT RESIST.

Can someone tell me what in the world is going on with the youth of today??? These young men running around with their pants hanging off like it’s some sort of badge of coolness or something. Now don’t get it twisted… It’s not only the African American boys doing this now a days. I’ve seen this craziness going on in all the races. Another problem I’ve noticed is them being disrespectful to themselves and all around them, even their own mothers and grandmothers at times. Just the other week a young man was outside of where I live cussing his mother out. The situation was such a mess that the police had to get involved. Then a few days later his grandmother was outside talking on the phone telling someone this child had gotten upset with her and said “ shut up you black b*@#*!!!” REALLY?!?!? What’s going on? What has transpired to cause these children to be so out of control?

Facebook Group : Single Mothers Raising Boys Discussion Group

I ran across a wonderful group for us moms of sons on Facebook. I thought I'd blog about the group because it was nice of someone to create such a group. Any mom with a son will tell you, it isn't an easy task AT ALL. We don't get to experience the cute little dainty girls, who hate to get dirty and just love to have girl time and enjoy shopping just as much as we do. Instead we get, well in my case... a house full of boys that want to wrestle, fight, use each other for guinea pigs, and think that any and everything dirtier is indeed much better than anything clean. (SMILE)

An Educational Journey...

Well Moms… I’ve decided after being out of work since 2008 and no job in site, that it would be an excellent idea to go back to school. I’m not just going back for any ole thing to get by. I’M HEADED TOWARDS A CAREER!!! Something that I’ve always had a passion for but never felt I had the time to pursue. Yes I’m jumping on the Healthcare Wagon. I’ve always been intrigued by real life medical shows as well as the ones with the cool story lines.

I’m starting off with becoming a Patient Care Technician, but ultimately I’m like to journey all the way up to becoming an RN (scrub nurse to be exact) However I figured starting with a career as a PCT would be a good way to get started in the healthcare field and work my way up to my goal.
